Before you start
How much does it cost?
Starting is free: the free plan certifies a real course, one cohort with its diploma and its attendance certificate. When the institution needs more, a monthly plan raises the limits, and it is cancelled whenever you like.
Who issues the certificate: Emitcert or the institution?
The institution. Emitcert is the tool it designs, issues and publishes its certificates with; each one is signed with the institution's own key and says who granted it.
Does the person checking it need an account?
No. The QR code or the link opens a public page with the verdict: no account and no app.
What if a name is misspelt?
It is corrected: the certificate is issued again with the right name, and the old one's link leads to the new one, so nobody holding the old paper reaches a dead end.
Can we issue from our own learning platform?
Yes. One call to the API at the end of a course issues the certificate and sends its link; for a whole class, a spreadsheet is enough.
Can a certificate be withdrawn?
Yes. If it was granted by mistake, the institution withdraws it, and its page says so from that moment.
